My name is Bogdan Condor, owner of Bogdan Condor Photography. I am a Wedding Photographer based in Modesto, Ca.
One of my favorite things to do after getting to know a couple, is to plan the Engagement Session. An Engagement
Session is the perfect way to get to know my clients before the wedding. Every session reflects the couple's love
and highlights their personality.

Bonnie and Ryan are getting married this Summer at Ryan's parents' house, located in Lodi Wine Country. The vineyards
are not yet green so we chose a beautiful flower field to begin and then ended with a trip to Turlock Lake. They are an awesome couple,
with great chemistry and they made my job very easy. I am looking forward to their wedding in June, it's going to be a fantistic one!

You can sample  more of my work at Bogdan Condor and I can be reached at 209-595-0215 or you can also email me at here.

There are rare moments in your life that you want captured forever. Among these moments is your wedding day. That day of beautiful union when everything is perfect.

Capturing your special day we want it to be a relaxed, fun and enjoyable photography experience that will result in beautiful photographic memories to reflect upon throughout your lifetime. We would love the opportunity to share and capture these memories for you.

About Colleen

When I was around 7 years old I wanted a Brownie camera, but my father saw fit to do it right. He gave me his old field camera, the one that he used when working his way through Notre Dame as a photographer.

That was the beginning of my life behind the lens. I love pictures. I love taking them, I love looking at them, and I love having the moment captured forever. It is truly my passion. Capturing memories, your story, your wedding, newborns, children, families, pets - those important components that make up your life and will bring a smile to your face for years to come - that are what I do!

Look Who's Getting Married

In all the planning for the "Big Day," the issue of packing and moving gets lost in the excitement.

You are melding two homes into one, so what could possibly be the problem. Two words "Closet Space."

Next to the discussion of money and how to spend it will be, "Why do you need all these clothes and shoes?” Your fiancée must be forgiven for this paux pas.

You wear 20% of your clothes 80% of the time. Go to your closet and remove the items you wear the most frequently. Include shoes and handbags that you use the most often. These are things you can keep. Then go through what is remaining one piece of clothing at a time. Look at it from the color and style viewpoint. Is it outdated; does the color look well on you?

If you did not wear it in the last appropriate season then get rid of it. If the article has needed mending for over three months get rid of it.  Do not save clothing that is too small or too large for you.  You are wasting closet space and will have less trouble finding the things you need. Your clothes will remain neater on the hangers if you are not crowding them for space.

Ask yourself how many particular articles of a clothing type you need. Do you need more than four pairs of jeans? That is why we have washers and dryers, they call it doing laundry. You only need enough casual clothing to get you through two weeks at a time. Then you really have to do the laundry.

If you have business attire you must wear, keep no more than fifteen sets of attire. No one else in your office is really going to notice that you rotate your clothing every three-business weeks. If you have business attire that is outdated and not worn, get rid of it.

Do not keep items you would wear if you had “just the right occasion.” Do not buy anything while thinking it would be great for a "special occasion.” That special occasion is not coming your way unless you want to hold it yourself.

This is the perfect time to make a decision about your undergarments. If you want, feminine frilly panties and bras then wear them everyday. Believe me your husband will like it. Do not save them for special occasions that may never come. Dress under your clothes the way you would want to be found if you are in an accident and they take you to the emergency room. Give the staff something to talk about, become a legend. Depending how often you do your laundry determines how many sets of underwear and bras you need to keep in your drawer.

Each time you buy a new article of clothing you must get rid of one from your closet.

You may donate clothing only if it is in good condition. That means it does not need any repair work. Charities are not going to send clothing out to be mended so they can sell it. If your discarded clothing needs repairs or is very worn it belongs in the trash.

The good thing about starting married life with less clothing and shoes is your husband may want to take you shopping for more.

My last piece of advice is when it comes to arguing remember, you can be right or you can be happy, but you cannot be both. Ask yourself how important it is to be right.

Lastly, "less stuff equals more money."

Sun, 11 Dec 2011 03:01:24 -0800 Follow The Green Trend For Your Eco-Friendly Wedding http://redbow.posterous.com/follow-the-green-trend-for-your-eco-friendly http://redbow.posterous.com/follow-the-green-trend-for-your-eco-friendly

Follow The Green Trend For Your Eco-Friendly Wedding

A big trend in design and decor these days is the green theme. Recycled, reused, environmentally-friendly, and repurposed items are showing up everywhere. You can find recycled materials in home decor, building materials, dinnerware, clothing, jewelry, and accessories. And weddings! One of the hottest wedding trends is all about celebrating the big day with green ideas. Here is how to plan an eco-friendly wedding.

Start your wedding planning with eco-friendly invitations. The internet has many sources for beautiful, custom invitations printed with soy inks on recycled paper. Some remade papers are so thick and fine, you can barely tell they have been repurposed from something else. If you want a rustic and individual look to your invites, you can make your own paper simply with basic ingredients. It is possible to make paper out of egg cartons, newspaper, or old printer paper. Just add some starch and blend in a food processor. A thick, pulpy, handmade invitation is a very green creation, perfect for your eco-conscious theme. Print your invitation with a computer printer, with a pretty, nature-themed font.

Decorating a green wedding can be easy and fun. Just go with items you like and find an eco-friendly source. Green trends are all about recycling. Why not use unconventional, old containers for flowers, groomsmen gifts and candles? Mason jars, for example, can be made into simple flower vases for reception centerpieces. Add some river rocks in the bottom, and allow your beautiful flowers to burst out of the jars in all directions. Or place a simple handful of mood moss and some succulent plants in a recycled mason jar, creating a peaceful terrarium centerpiece. Mason jars can be made into candle holders and hanging lanterns, too. Soy candles and beeswax candles are much better for the environment than standard candles. Use them to light up the ceremony and reception.

Wood can be a beautiful, natural part of a green wedding. Go to a tree-cutting service or landscape company for discarded wood shavings, bark, and wood cuttings for your decor. Birch discs can be stacked and used to display candles, flowers, food serving plates, even the wedding cake. Birch shavings in all sizes and lengths can be added to floral arrangements. Place them all over a buffet table and bar for a woodsy feeling.

Flower arrangements for a green wedding can be fun to create. To be truly green, choose flowers that are locally grown and in season. Going local for your flowers cuts down on transportation costs, pollution, pesticides, and packing materials that hurt the environment. If you can, pick flowers from your own garden! If you donít have a garden, find a nearby farm or local floral grower and discuss your floral options. Even in winter, there are flowers and plants available that can look amazing in a bouquet. Imagine, for example, a wedding bouquet made of large bloomed purple ornamental cabbage. Gorgeous in a winter wedding!

Wrap or tie your wedding bouquet with a recycled material. Get Creative! Burlap is great, and its raw edges are a lively texture next to vibrant flowers. Consider other recycled materials to wrap around bouquet stems and boutonnieres, such as twine, butcher paper, clean newsprint, old lace, or vintage fabric.

For bridal fashion, the green trend is all about bringing up and reinvigorating the past. A vintage wedding dress is perfect for a repurposed theme. Look for gowns made of elegant fabrics from a different time. Antique linen, eyelet, vintage lace, and chiffon are lovely, not only for fashion but for bridesmaid gifts as well. Bring another era to your wedding with the dress; conjure up old Hollywood glamour with satin, or 50's fun with taffeta. Have the bridal party pick their own gowns and classic accessories too. Perhaps decide on a single color to look for, like red for bridesmaids dresses and copper for the groomsmen ties. If they find old, vintage gowns and neckties, they are bringing new life to items that might be discarded otherwise.

Going with the green trend for your wedding can be a rewarding endeavor and is great for the environment too. No matter how you plan your green wedding, you can make eco-friendly choices that are beautiful and elegant too!

Sat, 03 Dec 2011 23:51:26 -0800 How You Can Plan the Perfect Eco-Friendly Wedding http://redbow.posterous.com/how-you-can-plan-the-perfect-eco-friendly-wed http://redbow.posterous.com/how-you-can-plan-the-perfect-eco-friendly-wed

How You Can Plan the Perfect Eco-Friendly Wedding

Weddings, in general, leave a huge carbon footprint due to the fuel used to transport guests, energy used to create the food, waste left behind afterwards, etc. However, more and more people have become motivated to improve our planet, which has influenced many people, businesses and entire industries to incorporate more environmentally friendly products and services into their daily operations. This eco-friendly movement has even trickled down to weddings with many couples choosing to go a more “green” route for their special day.  If you, too, want to decrease your wedding’s carbon footprint, here’s how you can plan the perfect eco-friendly wedding.

Invitations

Sending out hundreds of paper invitations is not conducive to saving the environment, so instead of paper use either recycled paper, hemp or forego environmental wastes altogether with email invitations. Don’t worry about what your guests will think; the environment is more important than a few etiquette elitists and most of your guests will likely be appreciative of your earth friendly gesture.

Location and Transportation

Having your wedding outside is the perfect way to show your support for the environment, but make sure you don’t leave behind any trash or harmful materials that would be counterproductive to your green efforts. If you don’t want to have an outdoor wedding but still want a green wedding, there are venues available that make a huge effort to save water, energy, reduce waste and offer organic meal options. Search around for the perfect venue and make sure to ask about their sustainability efforts. As for transportation, which has the most environmental impact, you should try to limit long distance travel, encourages walking by having the wedding in the same location as the reception and the hotel.

The Catering

The food is one of the most important parts of the celebration, so making sure your menu tastes good, in addition to being eco-friendly, is crucial to the overall success of your wedding. If you are concerned about the cost of going completely organic, then search locally to save on the cost of shipping, storing, etc. Plus, you will be helping out the local community in the process. Find a caterer that specializes in organic meals, recycles used materials, and utilizes china instead of paper plates. You should also ask if your caterer can help you donate the leftovers to food shelters or other organizations so you can reduce waste and help others simultaneously.

Decoration and flowers

Candles and bamboo are perfect decorative items that will make your wedding look sleek and romantic while sticking to the green theme. When searching for flowers, consider potted arrangements as an alternative to cut flowers- they can decrease waste and double up as a wedding favor. For the bouquet, try to find organically grown flowers and order from a local business so you save fuel on transportation. Although it may take a little extra effort, all of your hard work will ensure the most beautiful, eco-friendly wedding that will inspire others to do their part to help the environment.

Thu, 01 Dec 2011 20:44:00 -0800 Top 10 Tips to Hold a Unique Wedding http://redbow.posterous.com/top-10-tips-to-hold-a-unique-wedding http://redbow.posterous.com/top-10-tips-to-hold-a-unique-wedding

To have a romantic wedding is expected by every girl. Fortunately, it isn’t difficult to achieve this nowadays. Except finding the really desirable wedding dress, consider the wedding theme please. Without breaking the wallet, you can also hold a memorable nuptial. Here are definitely some unique wedding ideas.

Top 1: animate the red carpet.

1

Bring life and color to the red carpet. Perfuse yellow leaves onto the carpet. When you walk on it, you will feel like walking on a road to autumn where leaves float.

Top 2: show your names.

A chic & exquisite wedding logo is a must-have item for a romantic wedding. But except this, have you ever thought of letting your name to be seen everywhere? You can write your names on the menu. Or show your name via the projector. Sure, it’s also a great idea to write your names on the cake. Even, you can sew your name onto your wedding gown.

Top 3: name the desks by place names or flower names, rather than numbers.

3

Since you want to make your wedding more special, simple number will feel a little monotonous. If you always travel, you can name these desks by place names. Or, names for flowers sound great here. For example, the desk for your parents can be named by carnation, which means family love and warmness.

Top 4: design a time capsule.

Invite guests to forecast your future. For example, give each of them a capsule (the style can be designed by yourself) and invite them to write down their answers to questions like how many children you will have. How weighty will the groom be after five years? Open the capsule five years later. This will be meaningful. And also, guests will have more fun in this case.

Top 5: take your puppy to your big day.

5

A delicate archway will be designed. But this time, instead of carrying good-looking flowers, you are suggested to carry your puppy. Probably, it’s your companion when you were single. Why not let it share your joy on your memorable date? Just put on white gardenia garland for it.

Top 6: only wear your wedding gown.

Brides tend to wear two or three dresses during the wedding. So, you will need to leave your guests aside for a while. To avoid this, you are recommended to choose a trailing wedding dress, which can be dismantled easily. So, when the train is removed, the dress will be a great evening dress.

Top 7: design the seating card.

7

Like naming the desk, to design your seating cards can also make your wedding feel more special. You can spell your guests’ names by brightly colored fruits. Or, you can make seating cards by group photos with the guests. If you tend to hold the wedding by the sea, use shell to make these cards.

Top 8: ask your guests to bring pictures taken with you.

Set a display board at the sign-in desk and show pictures taken with your friends there. Remember to return your friends pictures after the ceremony.

Top 9: choose a special venue.

9

Modern girls do look forward to some distinctive wedding venues. So, how about holding it in an amusement park? Just image this: take the roller coaster while wearing your wedding gown? It will be crazily exciting to feel the veil is blown up. If you love animals, why not hold your wedding in a zoo?

Top 10: go back to the origin.

This may count for little about making your wedding unique. But believe it or not, it’s meaningful. While choosing the place to hold the wedding or take the honeymoon, why not go back to the place your grandparents held their nuptial or the place where your parents meet?

Venice, Italy

Everyone should take a romantic trip to Venice once in their life; arguably the most popular romantic destination in the world, Venice is known to be the perfect city to pop the question, but is just as suited for a holiday in the early stages of a relationship. Wander the beautiful cobble streets, take in the exquisite architecture and of course, don’t forget to take a ride on a gondola!

Paris, France

Experience the sophisticated culture of ’Bon Paris’ and fill your holiday with trips to the iconic landmarks (the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre are just two you just must see), visit the fabulous art galleries and spend time in the wonderful boutiques. Wander the city streets, explore the markets and enjoy fresh French produce in the many delightful eateries. You could even book a cookery class for two!

Barcelona, Spain

Perhaps surprising that the Catalan capital makes this list, but when you consider what city breaks to Barcelona offer those after a romantic escape it becomes apparent why. Fantastic hotels that are designed for couples, countless, and some of the world’s best restaurant along with all the incredible culture, arts and architecture. Not to mention the beach that you can wind down watching the sunset on. Then you can see why Barcelona is a top choice.

This is the perfect destination to treat your partner to a shopping trip and a really nice base to unwind and enjoy some great Italian food and drink. A visit to see the famous ‘Last Supper’ painting by Leonardo da Vinci also makes a romantic afternoon out.

Rome, Italy

Italy has many of Europeans finest ‘romantic’ cities and Rome is another one! This destination is ideal for those who want to stroll around a fascinating historic city hand-in-hand. Must see attractions include the Colosseum and the Sistine Chapel. Enjoying the delicious, traditional Italian cuisine on your stay is also a must!

Prague, Czech Republic

Many call ‘Prague’ the most beautiful city in the world, and as you explore the wonderful old town you’ll soon see why! Expect fascinating architecture (including the Church of St Nicholas and the Charles Bridge), hearty Czech food, cheap local beer and the opportunity to immerse yourself in the Prague culture.  Why not try the romantic Jazz cruise down the river Vltava or a horse and cart ride around the city?

St Tropez, France

If you want to head to a European destination popular with celebs, treat your partner to a glamorous holiday in St Tropez! The French Riviera is renowned for its incredible sophistication, sunshine and stunning turquoise waters. It’s a really nice place to chill-out and top up your tan.

Budapest, Hungary

For those who find the most romantic trip one that involves exploring a fascinating, historic city – Budapest is an excellent choice. The streets are filled with impressive Gothic architecture and popular attractions include the Gothic Parliament building, Castle Hill, Statue Park and St. Stephen’s Basilica so make sure you pack your camera!

Mykonos, Greece

Another fabulous Greek beach resort, the island of Mykonos is another romantic holiday option for those who want to escape into the Mediterranean sun. Here you’ll find incredible beaches, charming Greek villages, and plenty of bars, restaurants and boutiques (often visited by the rich and famous).

Faѕt weddіng рlаnnіng rеquіrеs оrganіzation, сoоrdіnаtіоn аnd coореrаtiоn, not onlу оn thе pаrt of thе brіdе and groom, but from аѕ mаnу fаmіlу mеmbеrs and frіendѕ аѕ thе сouрlе cаn cоax intо helpіng wіth wеdding tаѕkѕ.

Tryіng tо ѕqueezе аll the deciѕіоnѕ, taskѕ аnd rеѕроnѕibilіtіеs of planning a wedding іnto а соuрlе оf weеkѕ or mоnths is сhаllenging. Yоu wіll nееd tо ѕtау оrgаnіzеd and уоu will nееd plеnty of helр. Aѕ a rulе, the lеѕs tіmе you have tо рlаn yоur wеddіng thе morе asѕіѕtаnce уоu wіll neеd frоm frіеndѕ and fаmilу.

Fаѕt Wеdding Plаnnіng Cheсklіѕt

A сhecklist cаn mаke аll thе dіfferencе betwееn a wеdding thаt lоoks thrown togеthеr and onе that рrоvidеs а memоrablе experіеncе fоr еvеrуоnе іnvоlvеd. Faѕt weddіng рlаnning bесоmеѕ exроnentіallу easіer when a сhесkliѕt is рart of the еquаtіon.

The ѕimрleѕt wау to makе уour сhесklіst іѕ to lіѕt the tаѕks thаt need to be асcоmрlished bеfоre thе big daу in a cоunt-dоwn-tо-thе-date fаѕhіon.

Delegate Rеѕроnsibіlitіeѕ

Onсе а сhесklіst іs іn hаnd, іt's time tо dеlеgаtе rеѕpоnѕіbіlitіеs.

Whіlе the brіdal сouple wіll likеly wаnt tо mаkе major dеcіѕiоns аbout thе сeremоnу, drеѕѕ, vеndоrѕ, honеymoоn аnd rеcеption thеmselvеs, thе fоllоw-uр taskѕ cаn bе delegatеd to willing сlоse frіеnds аnd familу mеmbеrs. Aѕ sооn aѕ a ѕitе іѕ cоnfіrmеd for thе cerеmonу, еnlist еverуоnе tо help wіth sendіng оut іnvіtationѕ. Thеn аsѕіgn еаch voluntеer with a ѕрecifіc areа оf rеѕpоnѕіbility.

Venues

Assign sоmеоne tо mаkе ѕurе thаt the wedding аnd rесeption vеnuеs hаvе the арprорrіate ѕеrviceѕ, еquiрmеnt, furniѕhingѕ аnd еleсtroniсѕ. As the weddіng dаtе аррrоасhеѕ, thiѕ pеrѕоn wіll enѕurе that menus аrе рrіnted, ѕеаting аrrаngementѕ аrе accuratе and thаt wеddіng gifts, flоwerѕ and dеcorаtіons аrе аll in plасе.

Vendоrѕ

Another helpеr ѕhоuld follow-up with all the vеndorѕ tо еnѕurе prераratiоnѕ аrе оn а timelу ѕchеdulе. Thіs реrson shоuld mаke surе that all vеndors hаvе a сору of the еvent'ѕ ѕchеdule as ѕoоn as it beсomeѕ avаilable, аnd thаt all vеndоrѕ arе paid and tірреd.

Errands

Enlist a truѕted helрer whо hаs rеlіablе transpоrtatiоn to be іn charge оf рісking uр оrdеred іtems on уоur weddіng day. Hаvіng somеоnе whо cаn dаsh оut for laѕt-mіnutе іtеmѕ іs key tо а ѕtreѕѕ-freе wеddіng.

Assistant to the Bridе and Groom

Everу bride nееds а trustеd frіеnd оr family membеr who wіll bе at her beсk аnd сall on hеr wеddіng daу, whether tо sеw а tоrn hem, run fоr food оr makе phоnе cаlls tо vendorѕ аnd оther hеlрerѕ. For the grооm, chооsе a rеѕроnsiblе frіend whо wіll hеlр keeр thе grоom саlm and on sсhеdulе.

Fоr quick weddіng plаnnіng thаt makeѕ the whоle wеdding experіеnсe less strеѕѕful аnd more enјоуаble, а fаst weddіng рlаnning сhеcklіѕt, аѕ wеll aѕ hеlр from fаmilу аnd friends, arе thе kеys tо ѕuссеѕs.

Wed, 10 Aug 2011 10:03:00 -0700 The Art of Wedding Photography by Larry Morse http://redbow.posterous.com/the-art-of-wedding-photography-by-larry-morse http://redbow.posterous.com/the-art-of-wedding-photography-by-larry-morse

Sharelogged by Red Bow Weddings, Every Bride's Guide a blog written by Larry Morse Photography. Enjoy!

Wedding photography is a precise and subtle art. To recreate the atmosphere of the wedding, as well as to get plenty of beautiful portraits of the bride, bridegroom, their families and friends, you need more than good equipment and hard work. Not only must you have the sensitivity to understand the wishes of the bride and bridegroom before you start, but at the wedding itself you need to be able to predict constantly what is about to happen, even when totally unscripted. Patience, persistence and a total renunciation of self-consciousness are also vital qualities if you are to get the best wedding photographs. However, there are more things for a wedding photographer to bear in mind than simply the challenging task of getting the best images.

A wedding is a very important event in the lives of those involved, and the photographer must remember that the photographs are not the sole purpose of the event. A photographer must not be too intrusive or too demonstrative, and I would go as far as to say that he or she should be as invisible as possible. The solemn and immensely personal aesthetic of the ceremony itself for example, can easily be upset. A wandering photographer, or one who positions themselves directly in the view of the guests, or even worse, in front of the bride and bridegroom, can distract horribly from the more important things at hand.

As for the group shots, everyone has at some point been at a wedding where these seem to take over most of the event, this is far from desirable. In essence, a wedding photographer should document (not direct) the wedding. They should work in total harmony with their surroundings, responding to each and every person and each and every happening with sensitivity and skill. In my experience, being the perfect wedding photographer is just as important as taking the perfect photographs and this is why wedding photography is such demanding and exhausting work.

Having said that, it is largely the wedding photographs by which the wedding will eventually be remembered. This is why natural and honest photographs that depict the wedding as it really was are the best wedding photographs. Overly styled or posed photographs will not only be less meaningful but will fail to remain evocative for the future. And it is for future memories that the photographs will largely have to serve.

Think about any wedding photographs you have seen of your parents, grandparents or indeed of generations before; they are a joy to look at because they represent the people as they really were: smiling, laughing, or crying at what is traditionally one of the most pivotal moments in their lives. I have seen some contemporary wedding photographs that depict nothing more than the glossy magazine fashion of the time, a silhouette of a bride and groom under a palm tree, or a blurred image of a figure in a white dress running across a bridge. These photographs could be of anyone and this is missing out on the whole principle of wedding photography which, of course, is to capture something personal and something real. A beautiful wedding photograph is somewhat vacuous unless it somehow represents a real person or indeed a real moment, and this is what a wedding photographer should bear in mind every time they photograph a wedding.

Sat, 09 Jul 2011 18:19:30 -0700 Red Bow Weddings in Touch with Simply Bre's Floral http://redbow.posterous.com/red-bow-weddings-in-touch-with-simply-bres-fl http://redbow.posterous.com/red-bow-weddings-in-touch-with-simply-bres-fl

Here is a florist worth you taking the time to consult with!

I met Bre a couple of years ago during the planning of our first bridal show. She made beautiful arrangements then, working for another company, and is now, I'm happy to say is in business for herself! I might add that her ability to decorate any home/office/restaurant/christmas tree for the Holiday season is divine! Not to mention her amazing Magnolia leaves wreath! To die for!

Bre writes....

I have 9 years experience in the floral industry, fresh out of high school I began working for Mike & Cheryl Merritt at The Thoughtful Flower in 2003, and rose to the rank of manager & designer in 2007. I continued working there until january of 2011.

During that time I have created the Gallo Center pieces in and around the lobby, fresh and silk, a few bridal shows with Red Bow Weddings. I have designed for several weddings large and small.

I have had the pleasure to design the Edible Extravaganza corporate tables in 2009 and 2010.

My passion for flowers and the creative art that it is, is what made me want to go out and explore my options in this field, and I soon became the proud owner of my own business, Simply Bre's Floral.

I want to provide the community with beauty at a reasonable price with outstanding customer service.

I am a garden club member. I've donated centerpieces to the Center for Human services this year for The Edible Extravaganza to be auctioned off at the end of the evening.

I can create just about anything you want. I work great with themes and overall moods to be expressed. I am a genius with color matching. I go above and beyond your expectaions for a florist.
